Super Eagles vice-captain Moses Simon has credited the team’s tactical discipline and collective approach for their impressive unbeaten run in open play under head coach Eric Chelle, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria extended their strong form with a 2–1 victory over Iran in a four-nation invitational tournament in Turkey. Simon opened the scoring, while Jerome Akor was instrumental in the build-up to the second goal, sealing the win for the Super Eagles.

Speaking after the match, Simon highlighted Chelle’s philosophy as a key factor behind the team’s consistency.

 “I think it’s largely down to how we approach games under him,” Simon said. “The system requires everyone to be involved defensively, and when we go forward, it’s still the same team. His philosophy is that if we can’t win, then we must not lose.”

The winger emphasized that discipline, work rate, and tactical awareness are non-negotiable under the current setup. According to him, players must meet strict physical and strategic demands to fit into the system.

Simon also pointed to Chelle’s preferred diamond formation, which he said provides a balance between attacking intent and defensive solidity. The structure allows multiple attacking players to feature while maintaining overall team organization.

Nigeria will aim to extend their unbeaten streak when they face Jordan in their next fixture of the tournament.
