Confederation of African Football (CAF) failed to certify Remo Stars stadium when the team qualify for the Second Round of continental championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This is confirmed by the CAF stadium inspection team who visited the stadium recently. In a chat with www.bsnsports.com.ng, one of the CAF delegation said, "Remo Stars stadium can host the First Round of CAF competition, but if the team qualify for the Second Round, they need to look for another stadium within or outside Nigeria.

"The inspection team didn't have so much problem with the pitch, though, the pitch is not top-notch but CAF didn't approve the stadium to host games from Second Round because of how the structure around the stadium was built." It didn't meet up with FIFA and CAF standard. He said.

Recall that Rivers United were also allowed to host their CAF Champions League First Round game at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium but was forced to play other games from the Second Round at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo.

Remo Stars will host AS FAR in the First Round of CAF Champions League on 18th August, 2024 at the Remo Stars stadium.
