Newly signed Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has expressed his excitement after making a winning debut for his new club FC Cincinnati, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Awaziem was in action on Saturday evening when FC Cincinnati defeated Querero by a lone goal.

The utility defender joined the MLS club this summer from the Portuguese Primera Liga side Boavista.

“It feels amazing. It feels great to be part of this wonderful club. 

I’m excited and happy that we came out with the three points.

“Honestly, I didn’t feel there was any need for me to go out because I wanted to help the team more. 

I was feeling good, so I felt that there was no point going out to the bench,” he told the club’s official website.
