Winning Trophies Will Attract More Nigeria-born Players To Super Eagles- Iwobi

Fulham FC midfielder Alex Iwobi has reiterated that winning trophies will attract more Nigerian players born abroad to switch allegiance, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Iwobi was part of the Super Eagles, who played in the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

While speaking to Sky Sports, the skilful midfielder admitted that players across the World will develop an interest in representing the country if they start winning trophies.

" Yeah, of course, especially with the sorts of talent we have in Nigeria now".

" Unfortunately, we lost in the final of AFCON, but if we keep on progressing and win competitions, it will attract players not just living in England but also Spain and Germany to try and play from where they're actually".

" I grew up in Nigeria culture, so when I just tried it out and saw what it was like, there was no turning back for me".

" Plus, they've seen me and Calvin do it; why not do it as well?" he said.
