Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vítor Pereira has praised Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare for his impactful display in the Carabao Cup victory over Everton, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Arokodare netted his first goal for the club in the 2-0 win at Molineux. Marshall Munetsi had earlier put Wolves ahead in the first half.

The 24-year-old forward, who came on for Strand Larsen in the 68th minute, sealed the result three minutes from time after being played through by João Gomes, calmly slotting past the Everton goalkeeper.

Pereira expressed delight at Arokodare’s breakthrough moment, insisting it will serve as a confidence booster.

“Tolu has settled in really well since arriving, and tonight’s goal will give him confidence,” Pereira told the club’s official website.

“It’s always important for a striker to get off the mark early.”
