As the 2025 Nigeria Women’s Basketball League tipped off in Benin, two teams from the Atlantic Conference have withdrawn from the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The league, structured into Atlantic and Savannah Conferences, is expected to be played in two phases.

Reports from Benin, the host city for the Atlantic Conference, confirm that Sunshine Angels and Delta Force have pulled out of the tournament.

The withdrawal of both teams is reportedly due to severe financial difficulties affecting their operations.

According to league regulations, the two clubs now face the risk of automatic relegation.
