Women's CAF Champions League: Bayelsa Queens Thrash Wadi Degla, Face AS FAR In Semi-final
It was a good outing for Nigeria's champions Bayelsa Queens in the final group B game of the 2022 Women's CAF champions league in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng report.
The WAFU B champions were on top of their game as they thrashed the Egyptian side Wadi Degla 3-0 on Sunday evening in Marrakech.
Juliet Sunday netted the opening goal in the 16th minute as the Nigerians dominated the entire first stanza of the game.
They continue their domination in the second half and it paid off earlier as Itimi Mercy made it 2-0 in the 48th minute to confirm their superiority.
Mercy completed her brace five minutes later and with the win Bayelsa Queens become the first Nigeria side to reach semi-final of the competition.
However, it will be a tough battle as Nigeria champions confront the Moroccan side AS FAR in the semi-final of the tournament after finishing second behind Mamelodi Sundowns ladies of South Africa.
AS FAR topped group A having won all the matches in the group and garnered maximum of 9 points.
