World Athletics: Ese Brume Clinches Silver Medal In Belgrade

Nigeria track star, Ese Brume, proved her mettle again as she lived up to expectations at the World athletics in Belgrade Serbia, BSNsports.com.ng can report.


Brume performed wonderfully well at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by winning a bronze medal in the long jump.


In Belgrade on Sunday, Brume leapt a personal best of 6.85m to win Nigeria's only medal in the competition.


Home girl Ivana Vuleta claimed the gold medal with a leapt of 7.06m dumping Brume to the second position while United States Lorraine Ugen finished in the third position with a leapt of 6.82.


Another Nigeria that featured in the event Ruth Usoro placed in 8th position with a leapt of 6.69m.


The last time Nigeria won a medal at the World athletics was 2008.
