World Athletics U20 Championships: Justina Eyakpobeyan Books Place in Final

Nigeria's Justina Eyakpobeyan has qualified for the final of women's 100m at the ongoing World Athletics U20 Championships, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Eyakpobeyan becomes the 9th Nigerian female sprinter to make the 100m final at World U20 Championships.

Others to have achieved the feat include; Tina Iheagwan and Mary Onyali (1986); Uduak Ekah and Funmilola Ogundana (1998); Stella Silas (2010); Mercy Ntia-Obong (2016); Praise Ofoku (2021) and Tima Godbless (2022).

Eyakpobeyan secured an automatic spot, getting to the line in 2nd place with a time of 11.56s to finish 2nd in her semi-final heat. 

Jamaica's Alana Reid won the race in a time of 11.44s. Meanwhile, Great Britain's Mabel Akande finished 4th in the race in a time of 11.59s.
