The Senegalese delegation has reportedly been left stranded in the United States following the cancellation of a special flight arranged to bring the team home after their elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Teranga Lions exited the tournament after a hard-fought 3-2 defeat to Belgium in the Round of 16, ending their World Cup campaign.

According to reports, disagreements between Senegal's Ministry of Sports and the Senegalese Football Federation led to the cancellation of the chartered return flight.

The development has left part of the delegation stranded in the United States, with players and officials facing uncertainty over their travel arrangements.

Neither the Ministry of Sports nor the Senegalese Football Federation has issued an official statement explaining the situation, as efforts are expected to continue to resolve the impasse and facilitate the delegation's return to Senegal.
