Senegal's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have reportedly been thrown into disarray amid growing unrest within the squad over unpaid bonuses and poor welfare conditions, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Reports emerging from the Teranga Lions' camp indicate that players are yet to receive their bonuses despite the federation's revenues from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the team's successful qualification campaign for the World Cup.

Several members of the squad are also said to be dissatisfied with the accommodation arrangements at the team's training camp in the United States, with conditions reportedly falling below the standards usually expected by the players.

Further concerns have been raised over the quality of food provided to the team.

The head chef who accompanied Senegal during the 2025 AFCON was not included in the delegation to the United States, forcing some players to regularly order meals from outside the camp.

The situation has also affected the technical crew, with head coach Pape Thiaw reportedly still without an official contract and owed several months of unpaid wages.

The issues come at a crucial stage of Senegal's World Cup campaign.

The West African giants face Norway in their next group-stage fixture and must secure victory to keep alive their hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds.
