Sampson Adedeji

Nigeria launched their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier campaign with a dominant performance, cruising past Malawi by nine wickets in Harare on Friday, BSNSports.com.ng reports

The Yellow Greens were ruthless with the ball, restricting Malawi’s batting lineup to a modest total.

Player of the Match, Ridwan Kareem, spearheaded the attack with an impressive 3/24, while Emmanuel Udekwe (2/11) and Prosper Useni (1/4) provided solid support to leave the opponents reeling.

Chasing the target, Nigeria showed composure and flair. Sulaimon Runsewe was the star of the innings, anchoring the chase with an unbeaten 51 off 44 balls.

He was well-assisted by Salau Selim, who smashed a brisk 26, and Adedeji Sesan (12*), as the team wrapped up victory in just 11.3 overs.

With the emphatic win, Nigeria sent a strong message to their rivals as they continue their push for qualification to the global showpiece.
