World Cup Play-off: Ndidi Out Of DR Congo Clash
Ibrahim Lateef
Nigeria will be without Wilfred Ndidi for their World Cup play-off final against DR Congo this weekend, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
The Super Eagles achieved their third consecutive victory in World Cup qualification by defeating Gabon 4-1 after extra time on Thursday in the second round of the semi-final play-off.
However, a setback for the Super Eagles ahead of the upcoming play-off final is Ndidi's yellow card, which he received in the sixth minute for a foul on Gabon forward Denis Bouanga.
This was Ndidi's second booking in World Cup qualification, resulting in a one-match suspension.
As a result, Ndidi will be unavailable for selection when Nigeria faces DR Congo this weekend.
It's important to note that yellow cards are not erased until before the World Cup tournament; any player who accumulates two yellow cards in different qualifying matches will automatically be suspended for the next match.
