The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided not to sell tickets for fans to watch the much-anticipated World Cup playoff matches, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a surprising move, CAF announced that only fans who already possess valid tickets for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be granted access to the stadiums to watch the playoffs and they will do so free of charge.

According to CAF, the decision was made to ensure proper crowd management and to reward fans who have consistently supported the continental tournament.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to face the Panthers of Gabon in the opening playoff clash, while the Leopards of DR Congo will go head-to-head with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the second fixture.

The two encounters are expected to draw massive attention as African teams battle for qualification spots on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
