Sampson Adedeji
Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, is set to meet with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee this week to finalise the list of invited players and conclude preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup African playoff, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria will take on Gabon in the first semifinal of the playoff on November 13.
A win will see the Super Eagles face the winner between Cameroon and DR Congo in the decisive final encounter slated for November 16.
An NFF official confirmed that preparations began immediately after Nigeria’s final Group C qualifier against Benin Republic, emphasizing the federation’s determination to secure a World Cup ticket.
“The NFF started preparations for the playoff immediately after the last Group C game because of the importance attached to it,” the source stated.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to assemble in Morocco on November 9, while an advance party will arrive earlier to put final logistics in place.
“All the players will fly directly to Morocco, with only the coach and backroom staff moving from Nigeria,” the NFF official added.
