Cheetahs of Benin head coach Gernot Rohr has issued a warning to the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they prepare for Sunday’s decisive World Cup playoff final against DR Congo in Rabat, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, the former Super Eagles manager acknowledged that Nigeria remains the favourite on paper but stressed that the team must not underestimate their opponents.

“Of course, Nigeria is the favourite but they must be careful,” Rohr told The Nation. Rohr highlighted DR Congo’s physical advantage and their strength during dead-ball situations, citing their performance against Cameroon.

“Congo has a physically strong team and are dangerous on set pieces like they showed against Cameroon with good physical and mental strength,” he added.

Nigeria will be aiming to secure their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they battle the Congolese side on Sunday.
