World Cup Playoffs: Super Eagles Boycott Training Over Unpaid Allowances, Bonuses

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday boycotted their scheduled training session in Morocco ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash with Gabon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports from the team’s camp, the players and officials unanimously refused to train due to unresolved issues surrounding unpaid allowances and match bonuses.

The full squad, including technical staff, decided to suspend training activities until the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) addresses their concerns and clears all outstanding payments.

Sources within the camp revealed that the players are hopeful for a swift resolution, as they remain focused on Thursday’s crucial semi-final clash against the Panthers of Gabon in Rabat.

Despite the disruption, team officials are said to be in talks with the federation to resolve the matter and ensure the team’s preparations continue smoothly.

Nigeria are aiming to secure a place in the final of the African World Cup playoffs and take a step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
