Cheetahs of Benin coach Gernot Rohr has questioned the desire and mentality of Nigeria's Super Eagles players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Rohr in charge of the Beninoise recorded their first victory over Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Eagles scored first through Ralph Onyedika before two goals from Jordel Dossou and Steve Mounie gave the host a 2-1 win.

While speaking after the game, Rohr said Nigerian players believed the job was done the moment they scored first.

“We had the right organization, Nigeria scored the first goal, perhaps, they believed it was already done.

“But the reaction, the desire of my team was so strong that they could come back to win the match,” Rohr said.
