World Cup Qualifier: Liberia Petitions FIFA After Controversial Defeat To Tunisia
Sampson Adedeji
The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has lodged a formal petition with FIFA following their defeat to Tunisia in the 2026 World Cup qualifier, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Lone Stars narrowly lost to the Carthage Eagles in a match played in Morocco, but the LFA believes the officiating was biased and unfairly favoured the North African side.
According to the LFA, Liberia was denied two clear penalties, which significantly influenced the game's outcome and gave Tunisia an undue advantage.
The football body emphasized that the result could have a major impact on the standings in their qualification group.
