World Cup Qualifier: Remo Stars Goalkeeper Earns National Team Call-Up

Remo Stars goalkeeper Serge Obassa has been called up to the Benin national team following his impressive performances in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Benin’s head coach, Gernot Rohr, unveiled the squad list on Monday, with Obassa earning a spot among the invited players.

This marks Obassa’s second national team call-up, having made his debut for the Cheetahs during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria and Libya last November.

Benin will face Zimbabwe at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Thursday, March 20, before hosting South Africa in Abidjan five days later.
