World Cup Qualifier: Rohr Excludes Nigerian Forward From His Team

Ahead of the crucial day 4 qualifier, the head coach of Cheetahs of Benin Republic Gernot Rohr has decided to exclude Nigerian-born Samson Akinyoola from his team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The France-based attacker was eligible to play for Nigeria and Benin but he decided to switch allegiance to the latter.

He was in the team camp before the game against Rwanda but the Franco-German gaffer refused to play him.

According to the update from the Beninoise Football Association, Akinyoola's situation with FIFA on allegiance is complicated.

Instead of receiving hammer from FIFA, Rohr decided to leave him out and he has also been ruled out of the game against the Super Eagles on Tuesday.
