Ahead of the mouth-watering match day 5 World Cup qualifier against Super Eagles of Nigeria, the Rwanda Football Federation has appointed a new head coach for the Amavubi, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Rwandan national team has been without a coach since the departure of the German coach Thorsten Spittler.

The Rwanda Football Association (RFA) confirmed the appointment of Algerian Coach Adel Amrouche as the coach.

His first assignment would be against the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

Rwanda, who are on seven points, currently top the group with the Super Eagles second from bottom with 4 points. It's a must win for Nigeria whose Coach Eric Chelle will mark his first match on same Matchday 5 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
