Following a convincing victory over Benin, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos is setting his sights on World Cup qualification, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former African champions secured a 2-0 win against Benin in Ivory Coast on Tuesday, maintaining their lead at the top of the group.

Reflecting on their current position, the German tactician emphasized the importance of staying focused and avoiding complacency.

"The key now is to keep working hard and not assume the job is done," Broos said.

"We’re in a strong position, and with the quality in our squad, as long as we avoid unnecessary mistakes, we are very close to securing a World Cup spot."

South Africa last appeared at the World Cup in 2010 when they hosted the tournament.
