World Cup Qualifying: South Korea Shock D’Tigress

Nigeria’s D’Tigress on Thursday suffered a 77–60 defeat to South Korea in their second game of the qualifying tournament for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The loss ended the Nigerian side’s impressive unbeaten run, with their last defeat coming against the United States in the quarter-final of the women’s basketball event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
South Korea started the game on the front foot, taking control of the first quarter and finishing it with a 20–16 lead.
D’Tigress responded with an improved display in the second quarter, but the Asian side maintained their advantage and headed into halftime with a narrow 36–32 lead.
South Korea continued to dictate the pace of the game after the break, extending their lead to 58–51 at the end of the third quarter.
The Koreans then dominated the final quarter, widening the gap to seal a convincing 77–60 victory over the African champions.
