World Cup Qualifying Window: D’Tigers Ranked 8th In Power Rankings

Ahead of the first window of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying series, the Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) has released its latest power rankings, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, have been placed 8th on the rankings as they prepare for their group fixtures scheduled to take place in Tunis, Tunisia.

The qualifiers are set to tip off on Thursday, with teams from across the continent battling for early momentum on the road to the global showpiece.

The ranking reflects recent performances and current squad potential as nations gear up for a competitive round of games. 

D’Tigers will be hoping to produce a strong outing in this window as they look to secure their place at the World Cup and rebuild confidence following a challenging period on and off the court. 

Nigeria will face tough opposition in the qualifying series, but the team remains determined to prove its worth and climb higher in the rankings. All eyes now turn to Tunis as the action begins this week.
