World Junior Championship: Nigeria Contingents Depart For Colombia

It's surely a busy time for the Sports Ministry as Nigerian athletes continue to partake in every championship both at the Junior and senior level, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

Despite Nigerian athletes' participation at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England another set of athletes is to compete in another event.

Ahead of the World Junior Athletics Championship, Nigeria's contingents late on Saturday evening departed the country for Cali, Colombia.

They travelled in batches so they arrive in time for the championship that is scheduled to start on Monday.

Nicholas Adekalu Fakorede and Nicholas Mabilo are part of the 12 athletes including officials who travelled on Saturday with more athletes expected to travel on Sunday.

 The Nigerian Mixed 4x400m team were the first to leave for the championships.
