Wydad Shock Enyimba At African Football League In Uyo

By Sampson Adedeji

It was a disappointing start for the Nigeria representative Enyimba International at the inaugural edition of the African Football League as they suffered a home defeat to Wydad Casablanca, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The competition kicked off on Friday with Ahly of Egypt picking an away draw against Simba SC of Tanzania.

Mamelodi Sundown recorded the first away win of the tournament with a 0-2 away win over Petro Luanda in Angola.

The Nigeria Premier League champions hosted the Moroccan giant on Sunday evening at the Goodwill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Yahya Jabrane netted the only goal of the game just before half-time and ensured a comfortable lead for Wydad going into the locker room.

The People's Elephant fought hard in the second half but they were unable to break down the well-organised Wydad backline as the game ended 0-1.
