Nigerian football's rising star, Yusuf Abdullahi, is generating strong interest both at home and abroad following an impressive season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The young forward, who burst into national prominence after scoring five goals in a single away match against Gombe United for Kano Pillars last December, continues to make headlines.

Abdullahi, who recently completed a loan stint at Plateau United, is now being linked with four NPFL clubs including Wikki Tourists, Nasarawa United, Enyimba, and Plateau United, where he played out the final phase of the season.

One of the standout moments of his 2024/25 NPFL campaign came on Match Day 38, when he scored the winning and only goal in a 1-0 victory against Enyimba in Aba — a performance that further elevated his status and sparked discussions about a potential move to the People's Elephant.

In addition to local interest, foreign clubs are reportedly monitoring the talented winger.

He was on the radar of Turkish side Manisa FK last season and has more recently been linked with a move to another club in Turkey.

Reports also suggest that two European clubs — one based in Central Europe and another from an undisclosed European nation — have shown interest in securing his services ahead of the new season.

Speaking on behalf of the player, FIFA-licensed agent Hayatudeen Bello Hayatudeen, a member of Abdullahi's management team, offered measured insight into the current wave of transfer rumours: “Yusuf’s progress has been phenomenal. His pace, composure, and instinct in front of goal make him one of the most promising forwards in Nigerian football today. While it's true that several clubs are making enquiries, nothing has been finalised at this point. We are carefully considering all options, prioritising his development and the right environment.”

Despite the attention, Abdullahi and his camp are reportedly taking a patient approach, focusing on long-term growth over short-term gains.
