Former Gombe United striker Yusuf Abdulazeez has continued from where he left off his goal-scoring skills in the Nigerian Professional Football League, after he scored for Mjällby, less than 48 hours after he was unveiled by the Swedish Allsvenskan side, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Yusuf, 20, put pen to a contract that runs until the 2025 season; after Gombe United and Mjällby agreed on a transfer fee, the club announced on Monday.
After emerging as the third top scorer in the NPFL last season with 16 goals, Yusuf was put to his pace by Mjällby in their U21 test match against Kalmar U21 on Tuesday.
Yusuf was an instant hit after he opened his goal-scoring account for Mjällby in the 2-2 draw with Kalmar.
He's now expected to tag along with his countryman, former NPFL top scorer and Nasarawa United striker Silas Nwankwo on and off the pitch and get used to life in Sweden.
Meanwhile, Yusuf could make his debut for the club in the match against GIF Sundsvall on Sunday.
