Zamalek Appoints Peseiro As Head Coach

Egyptian Premier League club Zamalek SC has named former Nigeria national team coach Jose Peseiro as the successor to Pascal Gross, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The experienced 64-year-old coach arrived in Cairo on Thursday to finalize a one-and-a-half-year contract, officially becoming Zamalek's new head coach.

This appointment marks the second coaching change of the season, following Gross's arrival after the departure of Portuguese coach Jose Gomes, who left the club for Saudi Arabia in November.

Peseiro will take charge immediately, with Zamalek set to face Petrojet on Sunday in the 14th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Peseiro briefly managed Al Ahly during the 2015-16 season before leaving for Porto.

He also led Nigeria to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
