The Football Federation of Zambia (FAZ) on Friday announced the opening of an inquiry into the alleged sexual abuse of players in the women's national team, Shepolopolo, BSNSports.com.ng understands.
Zambia's women's team finished in 3rd position in the 2022 Women's African Cup of Nations in Morocco after they defeated Nigeria's Super Falcons by a lone goal in the loser's final.
After a snippet from the social network, the federation felt might have gone wrong in the player's selection.
According to these accusations, players would have been selected against sexual favours granted to certain officials of the FAZ whose names have not been mentioned.
"We have not received any official complaint regarding these accusations but we take them very seriously and an investigation has been opened ," said Adrian Kashala.
We will be working with the police and other stakeholders on this case", said Adrian Kashala the federation Secretary told lequip.
