Abarah target first home victory for Tornadoes

By: Abubakar Hassan Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna has recorded its first victory in the 2019 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, BSNSports scooped. The team defeated Sunshine Stars Fc of Akure by a loaned goal in the match day seven of NPFL, played at the late Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna, Thursday. Awwal Tanko found himself unmarked in between the defence of the visitors and step forward to beat David Ariyo who was in goal for the visitors before tapping the ball into the net at about 13 minutes of play. The Interim Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes Fc, Coach Hamza Abdulazeez Abarah told sports Journalists after the match that it was a difficult encounter, saying it was God who did it for his team. He said his team had a bad start to the league this season which stretched tomatch day six and that when he was drafted to take charge of the team after the resignation of Coach Bernard Ogbe last Sunday, himself and other technical crew members went back to the drawing board to see where they went wrong with the aim of amending their mistakes. Coach Abarah who said he was overwhelmed by the victory appreciated the management of the club for believing in them and also the support accorded to the technical crew since he was drafted to take charge of the team. He disclosed that he took up the challenge despite the difficult situation the team was at the moment because of his love for the team and that he want to write his name where it cannot be erased. "I want to write my name in a marble where no one can erase it. I seek for Allah's guidance and protection towards achieving this feat," said the young tactician. Coach Abarah who appealed to soccer loving Nigerlites to be patient with the team, also colicited for the support, corporation and prayers of all stakeholders, saying they cannot manufacture result of a match because it comes from Almighty God. Similarly, the Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars Fc of Akure, Coach Kabiru Dogo said he was not happy with the outcome of the match because he did not lost the game to a better side, admitting that the goal against his team was a good goal and that Tornadoes needed the goal due to the precarious situation the team is at the moment. "I know Tornadoes need the points because I know the pressure on them. If am in their shoe I would also go to any length to get this victory too. I wish them well and we will go back home to see how we can approach our next game," said the former Nassarawa United Gaffer. He said he will go back home to work on the next two back to back home matches so as to pick all the six maximum points as take in the two games, saying anything short of that his team will be in a difficult situation. Niger Tornadoes Fc had before the match day seven of the NPFL played six matches where the team lost three matches away to Wikki Tourist, Rangers International and Katsina United and drew its last three home matches to Rivers United, Remo Stars Fc and Bendel Insurance Fc. This is the second time Coach Hamza Abarah was drafted to take charge of Niger Tornadoes and rescue it from falling into relegation. He was drafted to take charge of the team last season after Coach Erasmus Onu was shown the way out for non performance, where he led the team to nine match unbeaten before the league ended abruptly.
