Accountability: NFF To Present Account Details To House Committee on Sports

The Nigeria Football Federation has promised to provide all accounts details of the nation's football body to the House Committee on Sports.
This statement was made by the Secreyary General of the Federation, Dr Sanusi Muhammed during a meeting with the House Committee on Sports in Abuja.
The House Committee on Sports during the meeting directed the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to make available to the committee its monthly account details for the purpose of transparency and accountability
According to newtelegraphng.com the Chairman of the Committee, Olumide Osoba, gave the directive during a meeting with the leadership of the nation’s apex football body at the committee’s room in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Chairman explained that it became necessary to request the account details in order to enable Nigerians know that the House is committed to ensuring accountability in sports administration in Nigeria.
Honourable Osoba also said that the meeting was informed by the nation’s recent poor performances in major age grades’ competitions, adding that henceforth, the committee will observe and monitor all elections to be conducted by the NFF.
Speaking on the nation’s preparation for the 2022 World Cup, the committee informed the leadership of the NFF that Nigerians would not accept anything short of qualification for the World Cup.
In his remarks, the President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick who was in the company of the federation’s secretary, Muhammed Sanusi, assured the House that the football body would make available the necessary bank details requested by the committee, while also assuring that NFF will continue to work closely with the House in order to ensure the success of Nigeria in all future competitions.
