Ademola Lookman Penalty Miss The Highlight of The London Derby.
By Omolagba Oluwayemi
It was a late night drama at the London Stadium, home of West Ham United yesterday as West Ham scored a 90th minute goal to earn the three points.
Going into the late night game, the head to head favours the home side who have won 7 of the previous 9 fixtures against Fulham's 2 and it was an easy pick for punters but the game itself wasn't easy for the Hammers as many would've thought.
With Nigeria trio of Tosin Adarabioyo, Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman all maintaining their starting lineup for Fulham, the first half ended goalless with Fulham looking the better side on possession.
The second half was going towards the same direction until Said Benrahma pass opened up space for Thomas Soucek who scored the only goal of the encounter in the 91st minutes.
Said Benrahma then conceded a penalty in 7th minutes of additional time for tripping Tom Cairney in West Ham 8 yard box with Ademola Lookman stepping up to take the resulting penalty.
Ademola Lookman then missed the penalty which could've earned his side a point in the game. The penalty miss by Lookman has been the talk on internet since last night.
Missing the penalty wasn't the problem but the manner in which he took the crucial penalty has been the talk.
With the defeat, Fulham are 17th on the log with 4 points while West Ham moved to 11th with 11 points.
The Nigeria trio were on for the entire duration and will hope to continue the form that has seen them displace players playing the positions before their arrival in London club after the International break
