Aduku insists on NWPL Super 4 losers’ game

Bayelsa Queens technical adviser, Moses Aduku has described as-a-must-win, the Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Super 4 third place match against newcomers, Adamawa Queens.
The Restoration Girls were beaten 4-2 on penalties by rivals, Rivers Angels in Friday’s NWPL Super 4 clash at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. The keenly contested encounter ended barren after regulation time.
Aduku said his side was not outplayed by the Port Harcourt side but heaped the whole blame on the misfiring attack.
“Of course, we know that we cannot come here to go back home empty-handed, we have to do what must be done to win the third place match. It’s just unfortunate we are playing the third place match.
“I think we did not take our chances not that Rivers Angels had the game under their control, our attack was not 100% we would have won the match.
“Penalty shootout is nobody’s game, anyone can win it. My attack the bite is not enough, we controlled the midfield but our finishing was poor,” said the former Nigerian junior international to NWFL Media.
Aduku said he will want sponsors for the league to check the excess movement of players from the domestic league.
“We are progressing gradually but honestly we need sponsorship because most of our players are running out the likes of Bokiri, Charity, among others, they are all out.
“Basically, any player you are hoping on within two, three hours they are outside there so we need sponsors for the league to check it.
“Not at all we missed them though but what I’m trying to say is that football is a continuous thing – team building.
“When you build and they are no more available even if you have players to fill the space it takes time.
“The new ones that took the place of the old ones did their best but a well-sponsored league will help greatly,” said the former Heartland Queens coach.
Bayelsa Queens will play the third place match against Adamawa Queens on Sunday in Lagos and One Millions Naira (N1m) is at stake for the winners.
