The immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung is optimistic and confident that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will defeat Cameroon in their African Cup of Nations round of 16 tie against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The soft spoken erstwhile minister said that history will repeat itself adding that the three times African champion will shock the world when the Eagles record yet another victory over five-time African champions.

He said he drew his confidence from the last two meetings between the two countries during their faceoff in the 2018 World cup qualifiers. According to him, Nigeria lost 0-2 to South Africa before taking on Cameroon whom were silence with a resounding 4-0 spanking in Nigeria and played out a draw in Yaounde. He believed the 0-2 lost to Madagascar is a blessing in disguise and a good sign of coincidence which will drive the 2013 African champion to pick the quarter ticket at the expense of Cameroon.

"I am confident that we are going to defeat Cameroon on Saturday. Though it will not be easy but our boys are up to the task. Dalung told BSNSports.com.ng

"History is about to repeat itself. We lost 0-2 to South African before World cup qualifier clash against Cameroon which we won 4-0. This time in 2019, we just lost 0-2 to Madagascar and our next opponent is Cameroon, you can see the coincidence? He asked.

"The coincidence did not come by mistake but history to repeat itself." He concluded.

Super Eagles whom 6 points pitched them against Cameroon who have 5 points in three group games will slug it out on Saturday in Alexandria at 5:00 pm to pick the quarter final ticket.
