AFCON 2019: Gernot Rohr Goes Silent On Mikel Obi By Admin Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has remained silent on whether Mikel Obi will be part of the squad to 2019 African Nations Cup in Egypt. Gernot Rohr visited England North East and met with Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi at Middlesbrough but the gaffer has refused to talk to the press on the outcome of the meeting. Mikel has not play for the country after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in France. Super Eagles will be participating in the 2019 African Nations Cup in June and the coach has said that he would like to have the captain back in the team for AFCON finals. Super Eagles are in group B alongside Burundi, Guinea and Madagascar.
