AFCON 2019: Guinea sends home Keita

Just as the 2019 African Cup of Nations, reach second round, Syli national of Guinea have sent home their midfielder and Captain Naby Keita due to injury he sustained during their group match, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The Liverpool midfielder suffered the injury initially during Reds clash against Barcelona in the Uefa Champions league but recovered to feature in the African competition. He suffered relapsed of the injury when they play Nigeria's Super Eagles in the match day 2 of the competition.

The technical crew of the Guinea national team agreed on Monday morning to release the player after it was confirmed that he will not be available for the second round of the tournament. Despite winning the last game against Burundi 2-0, they will have to wait and see if they will be among the four best losers to progress into the knockout round .

The Guinea midfielder Naby Keita has left Africa Cup of Nations to fly to Liverpool FC for assessment and treatment by club doctors.
