AFCON 2019: Ighalo eyes Golden Boot, urges Nigerians to believe in the team.

Ahead of the all important quarterfinal clash between Nigeria's Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the ongoing 2019 African Cup of Nations, Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has stated his desire to emerge the competition top scorer, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 3-time African champions will continue its campaign in this year edition of the tournament as they face Bafana Bafana at the Cairo International stadium on Wednesday at 8:00 pm.

Shanghai Shenhua striker stated his desire during a press conference organised for the team on Tuesday and he further said Nigerians should believe in the team.

"I'm interested in the golden boot but the team comes first. We know the South Africans have been saying stuff on the internet but we have told ourselves that we must not lose.

"We need Nigerians to believe in us because their support is very important to what we want to achieve here. We will make them proud tomorrow, he concluded

Ighalo is presently the leading scorer in the competition with 3 goals alongside Senegal's Sadio Mane and DR Congo' s Cederic Bakambu.
