AFCON 2019: Injury Hits Algeria's Camp Ahead Eagles Semifinal Clash

Algerian defender Youcef Atal (23) has been ruled out of the remainder of 2019 African Cup of Nations after suffering a fractured collarbone in Algeria’s Quarterfinal win against Ivory Coast.

After helping Desert Warriors of Algeria to secure Semifinal ticket at the ongoing 2019 African Cup of Nations, defender Youcef Atal has been ruled out of the Semifinal clash against Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Algeria defeated Elephant of Cote d'Ivoire 4-3 via penalty shootout in the quarterfinal and booked a semifinal tie with the Nigeria's Super Eagles.

Atal got injured in a clash with Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha and was substituted in the encounter.

The Algeria side will miss Atal absence as he has recorded 2 assists for the team in the tournament.

Nigeria and Algeria will clash for a place in the final on Sunday in the second semi final of the competition at the Cairo international stadium.
