AFCON 2019: Simon eyes starting role

After making the Nigeria's Super Eagles final list to the 2019 African Cup of Nations, winger Moses Simon is eyeing a starting role in the team.

Simon was among the 23 players listed by coach Gernot Rohr for the summer competition.

"It's not easy to make the 23 man lists because we are all fighting for place but is not over yet, if you make the final cut it means you are good.

"Next level now is to fight for the position and I believed the coach know the right decisions to make and put the right players because its good results we want.

"I don't want to miss AFCON again, I work hard and give my best but its up to the coach if he will take me or not.

"It quite well it's not my position but I will do my best to make my country proud," he stated.

UD Levante winger missed Russia 2018 World Cup due to injury.
