NANF President, Harrison Jalla while speaking with BSN Sports olin Abuja congratulated the team on their victory over the defending champions Cameroon in the second round to set up South Africa quarterfinals clash.
"On behalf of all Nigeria footballers current and retired, we congratulate the super Eagles of Nigeria on their Scintilating performance against the Lions of Cameron in the round of sixteen to progress to the quarter finals of the ongoing AFCON in Egypt. "
" If the Super Eagles continue to exhibit the true never say die Nigerian spirit they can come home with the AFCON trophy in this 2019 Edition having failed to qualify in two previous consecutive editions due to the shambolic Amaju Pinnick led administration."

" President Buhari has done everything possible to support the super Eagles including a release of #1B to the NFF to ensure a successful tournament and a powerful federal government delegation led by the senate president to cheer the super Eagles. In the history of Nigeria football no president/Head of state dead or alive has supported football like President Mohamadu Buhari. The super Eagles cannot afford to let Nigerians down after all this Current team in terms of individual talents are better and superior to the Super Eagles of 2013 that won the AFCON trophy under Coach Stephen Keshi of blessed memory.
" The super Eagles must maintain this momentum against Cameron in the subsequent matches ahead and Compensate Nigerians with the trophy."
