There have been several uncertainties surrounding the venue as well as the date for the crucial 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier match between Nigeria and Libya.
While Confederation of African Football, CAF, chieftains insisted that the match must be played on Friday October 12th, thus throwing into the dust bin the submission and plea by the NFF for Saturday, October 13th fixture.
CAF men cited several clauses in the competition's rule book, which makes it absolutely impossible to grant Nigeria's change of date request, the Nigerian Football Federation is not comfortable with the decision and thereby hoping that the African football ruling body will consider the nation's plea before or on Wednesday.
BSN Sports scooped that NFF top officials are scared of the Friday October 12 fixture for the 2019 African Nations Cup qualifier game between Nigeria and Libya inside the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna, due to anticipated crowd who would come in their thousands to the stadium after the day's Jumat prayer.
The secretary of the NFF Dr. Sanusi Mohammed who spoke with www.bsnsports.com.ng on Tuesday confirmed that there has not been an agreement between NFF and CAF on the date for the game.
He also revealed that venue of the game is still unknown because NFF has not made final decision on where the match will be played.
"I cannot categorically tell you where the match will be played because NFF has not made final decision on that," he said.
"Also, NFF and CAF have not agreed on the date where the crucial qualifying game will be played. While CAF wants the match played on Friday, NFF on the other hand want it played on Saturday." He concluded.
Meanwhile, a very reliable source informed www.bsnsports.com.ng exclusively on Tuesday that the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has kicked against the choice of Ahmadu Bello stadium, ABS, for the game, citing the size of the ABS, which in his opinion is not befitting to host such high profile game, the quality of the grass and other factors discourage him from the city of groundnut to host the game.
