Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo produced what could be his best performance for the national team as his three goals helped Nigeria beat Libya 4-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played in Uyo, today.
The Chinese Super League player scored in the 4th minute via a penalty to mark the beginning of the routine win for the Eagles.
Ighalo got his brace in the hour mark after collecting a cross from the Arsenal ace, Alex Iwobi who played a defence splitting pass to locate Ighalo for the second that beat Libya defender.
He then capped a superlative performance following a through ball by captain of the side, Ahmed Musa that beatbLibyan defender before finding unmarked Ighalo to slot in his first hat trick for Super Eagles him round off the in the 69 minute.
Samuel Kalu, who was wastful in the match, rounded off the scoreline following a sublime shot from Henry onyekuru's pass that beat the goalkeeper.
With the result, Super Eagles are now second in Group L as they trail South Africa by one point.
Earlier in the first match in the group, South Africa defeated Seychelles 6-0 to go top of the log.
Nigeria will play Libya in the return leg on Tuesday, next week.
