AFCON 2019 Qualifier: Rohr Extends Invitation To Effiong To Replace Aina By Sampson Adedeji Few days to the 2019 AFCON qualifier between Nigeria's Super Eagles and their counterparts from Seychelles, coach Gernot Rohr has handed a late call up to Akwa United player Ndifreke Effiong to replace injured Torino defender Ola Aina. Last week, Flying Eagles defender and captain Ikouwem Utin Udoh was also called up to replace injured Girondin Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu. However, despite football clamoring for the inclusion of home-based players for the dead rubber qualifier game against Seychelles, the Franco-German gaffer still believe that the country must prosecute the qualifier with its best leg. The invitation of Akwa United player was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation social media handle on Sunday evening. Nigeria will take on Pirate of Seychelles on 22nd of March before facing Pharaoh of Egypt in an international friendly match four days later.
