Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has responded to the talks going round on why he failed to feature Henry Onyekuru and Victor Osimhen in the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Before the commencement of the biennial African championship, both attackers recorded the best goal scoring prowess for their respective club with over 30 goals between the two of them.

Reacting to journalists in Egypt during CAF press conference, Rohr said:

"We have two changes before the game against South Africa, the winning team against Cameroon was changed because I believed everybody is ready .

"We have a lot of strikers, they are 7, so we cannot play 5 or 6 at the same time and the young ones among them are here to learn.

"From our 23 lists of players, already 20 have played, which says a lots and I hope we can see at least two other ones .

"It's difficult for the third choice goalkeeper to come in but we tried against Madagascar to bring competition, to some of our players.

"The moment has come tomorrow to put the best players on the pitch," he told BSN Sports.

It's yet to be seen if the duo of Onyekuru and Osimhen will get chance to play against Algeria on Sunday.
