AFCON 2019: Rohr Thanks Egyptian Fans, Heaps Praise On Players

After succeeded in beating Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has thanked the Egyptian fans for their unrelenting supports for his team.

BSN Sports can report that Egyptians supported the Nigeria side throughout the keenly contested encounter played at the Cairo International Stadium.

Rohr expressed his gratitude to the fans while speaking to the press during the post match conference.

"The support from the home fans was fantastic but my players also showed good attitude and we played very well in the first half which also gave them something to cheer about. I hope they continue to support us in the tournament.

He further commended the Super Eagles players for their resilience throughout the match.

"The effect the loss to SA during the qualifiers helped us refocus and we were able to beat Cameroon 4-0 during the World Cup qualifiers.

"We have only ever lost twice to African Opposition since then & perhaps I have to thank Stuart Baxter for that," he concluded.

Goals from Samuel Chukwueze and William Troost-Ekong ensured Nigeria progress to the Semifinal.
