AFCON 2019: Senegal's President splashes cash on Teranga Lions

After finishing as runners up at the just concluded 2019 African Cup of Nations, Senegalese President HE Macky Sall has rewarded the Teranga Lions with cash.

BSN Sports can report that he rewarded each player and technical crew with a huge sum of $34,000 for their exploits in the competition .

The money different from the initial $17,000 each player got for qualifying for the final of the African biggest soccer showpiece.

Senegal lost 1-0 to Desert Foxes of Algeria in the final played on Friday at the Cairo international stadium.

That make it the second time Senegal will lose to Algeria in the competition after losing by the same scoreline at the group stage.

Losing in the final means it is now second time Senegal will lose in the AFCON final after they lost 3-2 via penalty shoot out to Indomitable lions of Cameroon in 2002
