Nigeria Defeats Cameroon At The Africa Handball Nations Cup

The Nigeria National Handball male team, on Friday were made to work but then came through as they defeated Cameroon 33-29 in a placement match at the Africa Handball Nations Cup holding in Tunisia.

The match which was played at the 2,500 capacity Hammamet Indoor Sports Hall in Hammamet, Tunisia, saw Nigeria digging deep to get a laboured victory as they played out a 17-17 score in the first half then won 16-12 to wrap up the match.

This is the third victory of Nigeria in the competition and the second victory over Cameroon in two weeks as Nigeria had defeated them in a friendly ahead of the nations cup.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's Yahaya Owolabi was voted player of the match as he dictated the pace for the team's win especially in the second half.
