AFCON 2021: Again, CAF Increases Prize Money Sampson Adedeji Ahead of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, the Confederation of African Football( CAF) has increased the prize money for the participating teams, BSNsports.com.ng can report. The soccer governing body in the continent last week announced $4.5 million as the prize for the winner of the competition among other money for the rest of the team. After their executive meeting on Friday, CAF decided to increase the money by $500,000 which means the winner will earn $5 million instead of the $4.5 million that was earlier announced. First runner up will get $2.75 million an increment of $250,000 while the second runner up will get $2.2 million an increment of $200,000. Quarter finalists will get $1.175 an increment of $175,000, the total cash prize added is $1.850 million. The competition kicks off on Sunday at the Olembe stadium with the match between host Cameroon and Burkina Faso.
